Mine Sure Makes ValueSpace’s Assessments a Standard Component in Risk Engineering Reports
Satellite-based analytics will enable Mine Sure to deliver comprehensive health checks on risk and controls.

“We have worked with ValueSpace's satellite capabilities and data interpretation over the last six months to provide additional information on Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) behaviour and performance suitable for inclusion in our risk engineering reports. All new engagements from 1st July 2025 will include as standard satellite information on abnormal movement and moisture in these facilities,” stated Darren Loftas, Principal at Mine Sure.
Mine Sure recognised that a key differentiator of ValueSpace’s work is the ability to pick up trends over many months or years which can then be correlated to key events or changes in the operating cycles.
“No longer are we presenting a pure snapshot but a real health check on the risks and controls. We know this approach has been successfully used in the back analysis of previous major TSF failures,” emphasised Darren Loftas.

He further noted that the information provided by ValueSpace will be available to Mine Sure engineers prior to site attendance. “This allows findings to be shared directly with clients on-site, facilitating focused discussions on the effectiveness of controls and enabling site inspections to target and validate areas of concern.”
Mine Sure are independent risk engineers, highly respected in both the London and international property insurance markets for their mining risk insights. The company offers Property Damage (PD), Business Interruption (BI) reports, and industry-experienced opinions on potential losses and critical control effectiveness. Their high-quality and comprehensive reports articulate an operation’s risks and risk quality to optimise insurance placement or to provide internal stakeholders assurance.
Mine Sure surveys all types of underground and surface mining operations, including metalliferous, industrial, and energy minerals. Their capabilities extend to reviewing downstream operations such as processing, materials handling, power, refining, smelting, port, and rail operations.
